Hurricane Milton - Second Update

Wednesday, 9 October, 2024 - 9:24 am

Dear Community,

We want to take a moment to reach out and offer a prayer for everyone’s safety and well-being—and to remind you to reach out if you need anything at all.  We are here to help in any way we can.

It’s especially important now to think of those who might feel isolated or vulnerable, particularly the elderly.  A simple phone call to check in and let them know they are not alone can make all the difference.

To help us stay connected and understand your situation, you can fill out this short form, letting us know if you’re in the area or have evacuated, and providing your emergency contacts. If you have any difficulties with the form, feel free to reply to this email.

Chabad of Bradenton and Lakewood Ranch is mobilizing staff and volunteers, as we have done in previous storms, to assist as many people as possible, especially those most in need.  If you are available to volunteer to assist or make well check calls to seniors and the homebound after the storm, please let us know.

Additionally, Hatzolah (a Jewish volunteer emergency medical service) is positioned in the Tampa Bay area now and able to help if needed.  Please see the information posted below.

Many have asked about our Yom Kippur services.  Our goal and hope is to hold Yom Kippur services at The Grove as planned.  We will assess the situation after the storm passes and keep everyone posted as soon as we can.

May everyone in Florida and in the storm’s path remain safe and protected.

With heartfelt prayers for a Shana Tova and good year for all,

Rabbi Mendy & Chanie Bukiet
